The perspective of cooperation relations development between CHRM and the API has been examined on the ombudsman’s Tudor Lazăr meeting with executive director of Independent Press Association, Petru Macovei.

During the meeting were discussed the campaign "My first vote" conducted by API, joined by the Ombudsman Tudor Lazăr and representatives from his staff.

Petru Macovei, appreciated the fact that API’s initiative was supported by CHRM, what added value to concerned action. That's because journalists from regional media were accompanied in schools by CHRM’s experts that came with information regarding the electoral process, provisions of national legislation concerning the exercise of voting. Was appropriate the distribution of brochure "Right to Vote", published by the National Ombudsman Institution.

Tudor Lazăr noted that the concerned project was very necessary and useful for civic and electoral education of young people, increasing their legal culture.

The speakers were unanimous in the idea that the established relations are to be strengthened by realization of same new collaborative projects that would relate to the promotion of human rights in community, legal education of the population, support and promotion of a free and independent press, joint organization of trainings for journalists.

The meeting was also attended by CHRM’s public servants Natalia Vişanu and Carolina Cazaciuc.
