The parliamentary advocates had a meeting with Ms. Magdalena Sepúlveda Carmona, United Nations Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights.

On 13 September 2013,Tudor Lazăr and Tamara Plamădeală had a meeting with Ms. Magdalena Sepúlveda Carmona, United Nations Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights that made a visit to the Center for Human Rights of Moldova.

The visit took place in the context of monitoring of the Republic of Moldova as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council.

During the meeting were discussed subjects related to the implementation of national policies in the field of human rights, poverty and social exclusion, particularly of disadvantaged groups such as people with disabilities.

The Parliamentary advocate Tudor Lazăr tackled several aspects of the poverty and discrimination phenomenon in Moldova, noting that the assurance of the disadvantaged groups rights observance is a priority in the activity of the national ombudsman institution.
