On 27 mai 2013, the Director of the Center for Human Rights of Moldova, Anatolie Munteanu, had a meeting with the Deputy Head of Mission of Republic of Austria to Republic of Moldova with the residence in Bucureşti, Jurgen Heissel.

The meeting was held at the request of Jurgen Heissel who wanted to learn about priority directions of parliamentary advocates institution activity and the degree of human rights respect in Republic of Moldova.

Anatolie Munteanu made an overview of CHRM activities by referring to the findings presented in the report of Parliamentary Advocates observance on human rights in the Republic of Moldova for 2012. The Ombudsman revealed that the most frequent complaints that come to CHRM are related to free access to justice, combat of torture, respect of people with disabilities rights, health and social protection, labor rights, etc.

Austrian Diplomat inquired about the degree of reaction to the recommendations of the competent bodies and proposals made by CHRM. Anatolie Munteanu also mentioned lately improvement of the situation in this respect. Overall, the Parliamentary advocates recommendations are realized by the competent institutions.

Upon its request, to the Austrian diplomat was presented informative materials produced by the CHRM with the aim of legal education of the population and promotion of human rights in society.

Jurgen Heissel announced the availability of Austrian party to assist the Parliamentary Advocates Institution in the realization of concrete projects and exchanges of good practices in the field of human rights. Anatolie Munteanu saluted this intention, stressing that such contacts will be made ​​in the context of good relations of cooperation between Republic of Moldova and Republic of Austria.
