On 30 October, Ombudsman Tudor Lazăr and UNHuman Rights Adviser in MoldovaClaude Cahn, met with the mayor of Bulboaca village Nicolae Bălănel and decision makers within the District Council of Anenii Noi.
The reason of this working meeting was a petition submitted by some Bulboaca village inhabitants to the National Ombudsman Office. The petitioners invoked the violation of the right to assistance and social protection, access to education, access to public health services, and the right to a decent living.
On the working meeting in dialogue between petitioners and local authorities, were discussed issues related to the possibility of living space granting, determination of disability degree for a child and his registration to the local kindergarten as well as granting of social allowances provided for vulnerable families. Also will be taken measures to ensure the mentioned family with appropriate social allocations and child’s support in providing orthopedic footwear. The mayor of Bulboaca village assured that he will undertake all efforts to support and assist the petitioners in solving of their problems.
The Ombudsman Office will continue to monitor the situation of the petitioners.
