The Ombudsman Tudor Lazar participated in a Festival of ethnicities in Moldova "Unity through Diversity"

The importance of minority rights promotion, observance of this category of citizens rights from our country in full compliance with the Framework Convention on Protection of National Minorities was reaffirmed by Ombudsman Tudor Lazăron the XIVth edition of the Festival of ethnicities from Moldova "Unity through Diversity", organized by the Bureau of Interethnic Relations on September 21, 2014.

In this context, the Ombudsman pointed out that the activity program of the Centre for Human Rights from Moldova include constantly actions to monitor the situation in the field, promoting  actions of tolerance and cultural, linguistic and interethnic diversity. Respect for rights of national minorities in the Republic of Moldova, full and effective equality of this category of persons, by providing adequate conditions for maintaining ethnic and cultural identity, the harmonious development and social inclusion constitutes the spectrum of issues in Ombudsman’s sight.

The festival of ethnicities is a good opportunity to know the culture and customs of national minorities, establishment of new contacts and is a unique opportunity for future collaboration, considers Ombudsman Tudor Lazăr.
