The Association for Persons with Mental Disabilities Humanitas in common with the Parliamentary Advocate Aurelia Grigoriu on 01 June 2013, organized some activities for children with mental disabilities and their parents.

The action carried out on the occasion of the International Children's Day was meant to prevent social exclusion of children with disabilities, fostering of initiatives for integration / inclusion of children with disabilities, contribute to the implementation of inclusive education development program in the Republic of Moldova.

During this activity was held one round table with the discussion of the problems faced by children with disabilities and their parents. At the event was present, the Head of the Committee on Culture, Education, Research, Youth, Sport and Media of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Chiril Lucinschi, the representative of the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family. Vasile Cuşca, representative of UNDP Moldova, The Head of the Asociation „Copii mileniului trei” Mihail Didîc, parents of the concerned children, volunteers that activates under APDI „Humanitas”.

The discussion was focused on social protection of disabled children and their parents. The chairman APDI "Humanitas" Aurelia Racu presented the activity of the association and volunteer workers. In his speech the Head of the Committee on Culture, Education, Research, Youth, Sport and Media of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Chiril Lucinschi, mentioned the need of a state support of children with disabilities appreciated the work of NGOs and volunteers active in the field, highlighting the efficient contributions of APDI "Humanitas" on the rehabilitation and social integration of children with disabilities.

The Parliamentary Advocate Aurelia Grigoriu noted  the existence of a positive collaboration with APDI „HUMANITAS”, by mentioning the excellent organization of volunteer activity and awarded all volunteers with a special diplomas and explained several procedures of protection and social assistance faced by people with disabilities.

The representative of the labor, social protection and family, Vasile Cuşca explained to all present to the event some moments of social assistance practice for people with disabilities.

Finally participants decided to generalize several proposals on social assistance of persons with disabilities and to provide them to the Parliamentary advocate for further development of proposals for amending the legislation.

The celebration continued with a recital of songs, poems and dances of the children-beneficiaries of APDI HUMANITAS. The Parliamentary Advocate Aurelia Grigoriu, with the support CHRM and partner association „Copii mileniului trei” handed various gifts to children present on this event.
