Prevention of domestic violence was the lectures topic given on October 20 by the Head of CHRM’s Comrat Representative in Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia (Gagauz Yeri), Svetlana Mironova, for students of the Faculty of Economics of the Comrat State University.
During the meeting the parties exchanged views on the certain phenomenon, the reasons of domestic violence acts. A patriarchal family sample, gender prejudices and domestic violence was another topic of discussion.
The same topic was discussed on the lectures given by principal consultant Alexandru Roman at Slavic University from Moldova. Students from the Law and Umanistic Science faculties had the same opinion on idea that rights and human dignity observance constitutes indispensable conditions in a democratic state, that any kind of violence should be prevented and condemned to secure quietness and public safety.
At the meeting with students the CHRM employees showed video spots on combat and prevention of domestic violence brochure, they distributed the brochure published by the CHRM “Ghid juridic pentru victimele violenţei domestice” (Legal Guide for victims of domestic violence).
Mentioned activities were organized in the context of the campaign "Family without violence, society without violence!" that will be held during 15 October to 25 November 2014, by the People’s Advocate Office, in partnership with Promo-LEX Association and the Center for Assistance and Social Protection of Human Trafficking Victims.
