On April 5, 2013 in Comrat was opened the third Public Bureau of the Parliamentary Advocate
At the event, besides Aurelia Grigoriu Parliamentary Advocate and representatives of CHRM regional offices from Comrat, Cahul and Balti were present Governor of Gagauz Yeri Mihail Formuzal Representatives of Council of Europe Office in Moldova, Ulvi Akhundlu, mayors of Comrat, Cahul, Soroca, Taraclia City Halls as well as representatives of local public authorities, Comrat NGOs . The event was attended by students from Comrat State University, Faculty of Law, who will work as volunteers in the Public Bureau of the Parliamentary Advocate.
At the inauguration, Aurelia Grigoriu noted the importance of expanding of public parliamentary advocate bureaus, stressing that they will help to support and protect the rights of people with disabilities and vulnerable population. The Ombudsman noted that currently having discussions with the local authorities in Soroca, Edinet, Ocniţa and Otaci to open similar structures in these regions of the country.
The Representative of Council of Europe Office in Moldova, Ulvi Akhundlu, stated that he supported the opening of the first Public Parliamentary Advocate Bureau in Chişinau and will continue to support initiatives of the Center for Human Rights of Moldova (CHRM).
TheGovernor of Gagauz Yeri, Mihail Formuzal saluted the the opening of the Public Parliamentary Advocate Bureau in Comrat, stressing the importance of this bureau to the population in the region, emphasizing the availability of Gagauz Executive Committee to support the proper functioning of concerned office.
At the event was signed an collaboration Agreement between the Center for Human Rights of Moldova and Regional Association of Mothers with Many Kids and Buissnes Ladys from Gagauzia «VESTA» (AO «VESTA».
The first Public Parliamentary Advocate Bureau was opened in Chişinău on Mai 22, 2012 in common with Fundation „Ecoul Cernobîlului”
The Public Bureaus of Parliamentary Advocate are designed to extend through voluntary activities assistance and consultancy services to people with disabilities, the socially vulnerable groups and victims of violence.
