The Center of Human Rights from Republic of Moldova made two activities of tolerance promotion in High School „Alecu Russo” fromCojuşna village.

The pupils from ninth, tenth and twelfth gradesof "A. Russo" high school located in Cojuşna village participated in a discussion about the rights of persons with disabilities.Discrimination and tolerance of people with disabilities, their needs and their way of life were sensitive topics which children have discussed.The pupils  have motivated the need for social integration of people with special needs, spoke about social causes of discrimination and proposed solutions to change the situation, have motivated the need for tolerance as an active attitude generated by recognition of human rights. The Director of the High School, Ms. Maria Prodan noted that the institution has experience of work with several children with special needs, pedagogical staff and pupils have learned through their own experience the approach of a correct attitude and necessary adaptation to social and school integration of these students.

Children concluded that tolerance is respect, acceptance and appreciation of differences between people, kinds of expression and manners of expression of our human beings quality.

During this activities were awarded the participants in radio contest "Tolerance is Democracy" organized in December 2013 by the Centre for Human Rights of Moldova in collaboration with Radio Moldova

By Ombudsman diplomas and books were mentioned next pupils MileşcoLenuţa,  Jereghi Andreea, Guştiuc Cristina, Marian Mariana, MadanCătălina, Pogîlă Olga, Vrîncean Mădălina.

It is remarkable that pupils from "Alecu. Russo" high school participated in other contest and activities with human rights topics held previously, and social responsibility and active civic position is characteristic to most disciples of this school.

In December 2013 the prize winners of Radio Contest"Tolerance is democracy" participated in the radio show “Ora Copiilor” where was made the totals of the contest.

This activity is designed to educate children in the spirit of respect for human rights and the rights of people with disabilities in particular.
