Training for the penitentiary system employees

On October 7, 2014 in Training Center of the Penitentiary Institutions Department from Goian was held a seminar "Universal Declaration of Human Rights and national and international mechanisms of human rights protection, role, functions and duties of the People’s Advocate Office in the Republic of Moldova."
This event took place within activities of human rights promotion undertaken by the People’s Advocate Office
The seminar was attended by 32 petty officers from the security services, escort and supervision of DPI - employees who pass the initial training courses to engage in service of penitentiary system and 15 officers of the regime system services from the penitentiaries of the country. Within the seminar principal consultant in the Office of the People’s Advocate George Bosîi presented the activity of the National Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture from the perspective of Moldova's commitments also discussed the role of mechanism as a extra-judicial protection measure of physical and mental integrity right of people.
The audience discussed the notions and basic principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in terms of training at the employment in service of penitentiary system. To DPI employees was explained the 30 fundamental rights stipulated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, outlining the need to protect and promote the human rights both in service activities, as well as in everyday life.
This goal is necessary because only in the conditions of human rights observance, execution of legal provisions is possible to build a democratic state, construction of rule of law.
Within its presentation Gheorghe Bosîi, informed the participants about the history of the People’s Advocate Office in the Republic of Moldova creation, about the activity of the Office. At the end of the seminar the participants putted several questions in this regard.
