The Ombudsperson for the Children's Rights, Maia Bănărescu, met on 20 July, the expert in the Norwegian Mission of Rule of Law Advisers to Moldova (NORLAM), Siri Fjørtoft.

The parties discussed about the assistance NORLAM can provide to the Ombudsperson for Children in order to consolidate juvenile justice system and to increase effectiveness of institutions guaranteeing human rights in Moldova.

The meeting underlined the necessity of employee training in Prison no. 10 Goian, so that their communication with minors is tolerant and friendly. In this way it can prevent conflicts between staff and inmates.

It discussed the necessity to publish info materials (leaflets, brochures) on the rights of children in detention and the opportunity to engage in this process, whenever possible, the prisoners from Goian.
