On June 1, the International Children's Day, the Children’s Rights Ombudsperson, Maia Bănărescu organized "Open Doors Day" at the Office of the Ombudsman.
In the first half of the day, the Ombudsman’s institution was visited by a group of students from the "Hyperion" Lyceum in Durlesti, accompanied by their teacher Lucia Caciuc. Maia Bănărescu presented the Office, particularly the Directorate for the Protection of Children’s Rights and led students in the Ombudsman's office, Mihail Cotorobai.
Later, the Ombudsman, Mihail Cotorobai, and the Ombudsperson for the Protection of Child Rights, Maia Bănărescu, informed the children about the team of human rights defenders, their duties and talked to students about the rights of children, explaining to them what cases can they call the Ombudsman institution.
Students received T-shirts and balloons with the logo of the People’s Advocate Office, information materials on children's rights and sweets.
Also in the first half of the day, the Children’s Ombudsperson participated in activities organized in the Public Garden "Stefan cel Mare" by the Municipal Department for Child Rights Protection and the Republican Center for Children and Youth ARTICO.
During this event, Maia Bănărescu invited children to take part in a raffle "Know your rights", all 50 participants were given small gifts.
The Ombudsperson took part in the ceremony organized by the Municipal Directorate for Child Rights Protection at the Puppet Theatre "Licurici". Maia Bănărescu congratulated the children with this lovely occasion, wishing them a happy and joyful childhood alongside their parents and relatives.
