Among the main topics of the meeting were the issues related to child protection, in particular actions taken by the Children's Ombudsperson to enforce the rights of children with disabilities and those from socially vulnerable families.

It was talked about children's access to health services, education and social assistance, which ought to be tailored to their individual needs, on the role of the Ombudsman Institution in ensuring the realization of these rights and the importance of collaboration of the Office of the Ombudsperson with NGOs and public authorities.

Phil Batson praised the efforts of Maia Bănărescu in ensuring the rights of children in detention, stressing the need to maintain permanent control over prisons to prevent violations.
