Ombudsmanul Tudor Lazăr a participat la festivitatea de lansare a Studiului privind drepturile copiilor cu Spina Bifida în Moldova, elaborat de Oficiul Organizaţiei Naţiunilor Unite pentru Drepturile Omului (OHCHR).

Tudor Lazar welcomed the realization of the study on concerned theme, stressing that some topics are sensitive and require more attention from the relevant authorities: prevention and treatment of children with Spina Bifida, corruption in the health sector, the observace of persons with dizabilitis rights.

The Ombudsman also noted that CHRM will monitor the situation of children with Spina Bifida in order to ensure the rights observance of targeted categories of people and prevent discrimination or unequal treatment of these children.

Tudor Lazăr stressed that national ombudsman institution is and will be an defender for people with disabilities, including those who suffer from Spina Bifida disease, in cases where civil, political or socio-economical rights  will be violated.

On the event also participated the CHRM’s Head of child rights protection service, Tatiana Crestenco.
