Lecture for carabineers on discrimination and hate crimes

Committed hate crimes, basic notions and various aspects of discrimination, national and international basis in the field of discrimination combat on any criterion, torture and ill-treatment, in terms under the aspect of committed hate crimes or because of discrimination, have been the subject of the lecture presented by the principal consultant of the parliamentary advocate, Mrs. Svetlana Rusu for the military unit officers of the Carabineers Department Corps

The Carabineers addressed several questions regarding compliance with nondiscrimination principle, especially on subjects covering the military service presenting a high level of the legislation knowledge and an active position oriented to awareness of this subject timeliness.

The Center for Human Rights has established collaboration with this military unit and has organized several seminars and lectures on human rights topics. In these activities the soldiers are informed about the Ombudsman activity and the legislative provisions in the field of defense and human rights observance.

This activity was conducted in the context of the Anti-Torture Campaign recently launched by the ombudsman institution.
