The Council of experts for monitoring the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities begins its work

On July 21, 2016, the Expert Council of the Office of the Ombudsman for the monitoring of the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities convened in the second working session.

At the hearing, the Board decided in what areas to advise and assist the Office of the Ombudsman and came up with proposals for the activities planning of the Expert Council for the second semester of 2016.

The parties agreed on concrete actions to be carried out jointly in the near future. Also, it was determined that the following meetings will take place on the last Thursday of each month.

The Expert Council of the Office of the Ombudsman for the monitoring of the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities was established following a public competition announced by the Ombudsman's disposal of May 30th, 2016. The members aim to advise and assist the Office of the Ombudsman in monitoring the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, to promote and protect the rights of persons with disabilities.
