On 9 December 2015, as part of the Campaign against Domestic Violence, organized by the Ombudsperson's Office, Veaceslav Ursu, head of the Varnita Office of the Ombudsperson's Office carried out a human rights activity entitled “Violence: its Forms and Ways of Combating it” for the pupils from upper forms of the Varnita Theoretical High School.

This activity aimed to inform pupils about the importance of preventing and combating violence in the family, school and society, and the need to combat any type of violence.

The participants in the discussions talked about the types of violence, competent authorities and persons in charge of preventing and combating violence, provisions of the relevant national legislation.

Veaceslav Ursu presented to them real cases about the positive changes in the lives of people who accepted the help and got back to a normal life.

The pupils of the upper forms discussed about the quotation “No matter how big the difference is between women and men, they are, ultimately, one single person. And only together, with love and dedication can they make life last forever...” from Aurelian Silvestru’s book “Farame de suflet” (Soul Pieces). The pupils were also informed about the protection measures in cases of domestic violence and about the consequences of whatever kind of violence.

In addition, they were informed about the activity of the Ombudsperson's Office. The children received brochures about the prevention and combating of domestic violence.
