The CHRM has organized in 2013 in the context of national campaign "Tolerance-the basic principle of active and participatory citizenship", several actions.
To implement the Action Plan enshrined to the European Year of Citizens (2013), approved by Parliament Decision Nr. 88 from 19.04.2013, the Center has conducted over 50 activities to promote tolerance and combat discrimination of any kind.
The 26 actions have included promoting tolerance campaign that took place during November 15 to 30 of last year. The purpose of the campaign was to spread the principles of informed participation of citizens at the decision making process by promoting equality, peace, rule of law, solidarity and respect for human rights, taking into account the Republic of Moldova’s aspirations to become a full member of the European family.
"Tolerance is democracy” was the topic of the contest conducted by the CHRM in partnership with" IPNA Teleradio-Moldova ". Within the campaign of tolerance promotion, the Center has organized three regional meetings in the districts of north, south and center of the country, respectively Rișcani, Cahul and Chișinau, in whose framework were examined the situation referred to the observance of persons belonging to national minorities rights through the framework Convention.
The topic ofany kind of discrimination combat, promotion of intercultural dialogue and tolerance was addressed by Parliamentary Advocates, the CHRM employees in over of 60 shows, reviews and information sheets appeared on media of the country.
On the web-page of the Center for Human Rights of Moldova were placed 50 materials (press releases, statements, complaints) on the topic of gender equality, the combat of discrimination against women, minorities, military personnel, people with disabilities or discrimination on grounds of age in employment, combat of racism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, homophobia, promoting the principle of equality.
At the initiative of the National Human Rights Institution in several educational institutions in the country in May was conducted an hour of civic education on "Intercultural dialogue. Unity through Diversity ", which was also the subject of written by pupils essays.
