Tudor Lazăr attended the launch of the study "Media pluralism in Republic of Moldova: opportunity and reality" within the National Conference organized by the Soros Foundation-Moldova. On the conference was presented and discussed a Waybill, a document as a recommendation, which contains a number of commitments and recommendations by improving media pluralism in our country.

The Ombudsman pointed out in his speech the importance of media pluralism in the society, noting that the beneficial role offers the possibility for individuals to form their own opinion on political and social events.

This principle is guaranteed by constitutional norms and international acts to which our country is party and restriction of media pluralism is unacceptable than when it is proportionate to the situation that caused it.

Tudor Lazăr expressed his belief that the elaborated study, which was launched in the presence of decision makers representatives of mass media institutions will increase their role in defense of democratic principles and values,as well as rights and freedoms.
