On 13 October 2014, the Parliamentary Advocate Aurelia Grigoriu assisted by CHRM consultantLiudmila Bodrug, within citizen’s M.J. petition examination,  I degree invalid, who was seeking help in obtaining a wheelchair, visited the residence of the petitioner in Edineţ city.

The Parliamentary advocate brought to petitioner a wheelchair. This gift was granted with the support of  NGO „Dreptul de a fi” from Bălţi.

In the discussion with the Ombudsman, the petitioner spoke about faced hardships: personal assistant that helps him, is employed only on half wage, and therefore his performance is not granted to the extent necessary of such person with disability; small size of the pension that does not cover the vital needs; the material impossibility of home adaptation to special needs dictated by the nature of the disability; impossibility to provide wood for fire during the cold season of the year.

The Parliamentary Advocate Aurelia Grigoriu met the Mayor of the locality, during the meeting it was agreed that the Mayor personally will ensure so that the petitioner will be stocked with firewood, to him will be provided the appropriate assistance, the mayor also assured that he would find a solution to adapt persons with disabilities residence so the necessary pandus will be built.

Under this context also inform about ombudsman’s Aurelia Grigoriu involvement by supporting NGO "Dreptul de a fi" in organizing the visit to the circus for 30 children with disabilities from the north region of Moldova.

Recently, the Center for Human Rights of Moldova received a letter from the Head of NGO " ”Dreptul de a fi” Natalia Proţiuk witch personally thanked the ombudsman Aurelia Grigoriu for her involvement in organizing of mentioned visit to the circus. "Общественная организация "Dreptul de a fi" выражает искреннюю благодарность и глубокую признательность Парламентскому адвокату Аурелии Григориу за сердечную доброту и желание видеть детей счастливыми и жизнерадостными." - as is mentioned in the letter.
