On 2 of June the Children's Day continued to be celebrated at "A. Russo" High School in Cojuşna. The employees of Center for Human Rights from Moldova organized several activities dedicated to Children's Day in "A. Russo" High School. With this educational institution the Centre for Human Rights has established a good collaboration.
The pupils participated in several activities, interactive games, they discussed at a roundtable about the children's rights, the smallest have had a puppet theater performance of "Licurici" theater.
Non-discrimination of children due to social origin, child labor exploitation, domestic violence, children without parental care due to parental migration for work were the topics discussed at the roundtable "Why we must respect children’s rights and how children can help themselves on observance of their rights. An active civic position – the cornerstone of civil society. "
At a meeting with the Head of CHRM Child Rights Protection Service Tatiana Crestenco participated upper classes pupils of ' A. Russo" High School including the prize winners of the contest "Tolerance is democracy," previously held by the Centre for Human Rights in collaboration with Radio Moldova.
The pupils noted that their involvement in promoting and protecting children's rights is essential because they are same to children with problems, they know better the feelings and aspirations of these children and their needs at a certain age. The adults, on pupils view, must take into account the opinion and suggestions offered by children.
Children have mentioned that having an active position they can report about cases of violence, etc. to responsible authorities, but do not know the role of each authority. In order to react promptly in different situations, during the discussion to the attention of the children were presented information on the role of each responsible authority for child protection.
Discussions were held with the active involvement pupils who used various methods to express their opinion.
It is necessary to underline the high level of preparedness of pupils in this high school, which is due to the collective pedagogical efforts and above all the institution’s director.
The pupils from the 5th grade actively participated in two activities organized by CHRM Child Rights Protection Service staff: Tamara Tentiuc, Dumitru Roman, Liliana Cerici, on human rights topics. Interactive nature of the activities has insured the maximum involvement of children and their interests, as well the slogan "Different but equal" was the main theme of the games. The fourth grade pupils discussed various aspects of gender equality. The children were interested to find and explain some gender stereotypes or gender discrimination even in their lives, pupils conclusion was that among children is needed a right and kind attitude, based on mutual respect.
For the smallest pupils from "A.Russo" High School the Center for Human Rights provided a Puppet performance of "Licurici" Theatre. The presented show was successful received by small viewers.
